As part of our ongoing commitment to education and outdoor learning we are delighted to offer a free* entry ticket to the 2013 Wild About Wood Festival to every child from participating primary schools in North Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and the City of York.

Children will have the opportunity to learn about traditional woodland skills such as hurdle making and pole-lathe turning from our resident craftspeople, and then get "hands-on" with our Discovery Zone activities including pond-dipping, explorienteering, arboretum art, coracle rides... and much more!

If you would like to register your school for this initiative please send us an email here, including the name and address of your school, a contact name and telephone number, and the number of pupils at your school. The closing date for applications is Friday 19th July 2013.

In early September we'll send you a free entry voucher for each child at your school. All you have to do is give each child a voucher to take home. It's that simple!

And why not download our optional pre-festival activity worksheets? These can be undertaken in your school grounds or a local green space and are a great way to get children to think about trees and wood before they visit the festival. There will also be post-festival worksheets available for download nearer the time.
